My Highschool reboot
Starting tomorrow, I return to highschool for my sophomore year. But I won't be returning to the polished halls of the highly esteemed (and highly expensive) Veritas Aquinas all girls school. That shop has sailed on this year without me. So yes, i will be starting my second year of highschool at a school i never heard of before at least a month ago. My beloved highschool proved to be a hell of a lot harder than i expected, and i knew i was doomed to go to summer school about two weeks into my freshman year so, yeah no big surprise there. My lovely parents did not like the idea of paying seven thousand dollars a year for a child who could not even pass the classes they were paying for, so it was back to free education, as in public school. There only about a hundred reasons i can think of as to why this change of venue is not, well, exactly my cup of tea. Firstly, I have seen enough movies to know that the new girl who just pops up out of no where will not always be loved. These kids have had a whole year to get to know each other and have already broken up into their separate groups, so my best bet is to befriend the freshmen. Second, i have spent my whole life in private school, and the last time i visited a public school, i could've sworn that i had wandered into some jungle where the animals simply dressed like human beings but made no attempt to behave as such. I swear, an Australian narrator would have felt right at home there, so yeah, not a great first impression. Thirdly, i will have to be in class with a bunch of boys, and that's a box of crazy i really really don't want to open. So tomorrow i will start my second year of highschool on uncharted territory with these questions in mind,: "Will i make friends?", "how Many teachers can i get to hate me on the first day?", "What are boys like in highschool?", "did i get the right skirt?" (because i am so certain that i didn't) and, oh God "What is the cafeteria food like?"
So follow me on my journey through my highschool reboot, as i find myself (again), make new friends, deal with with the species known as the human boy, and try not to get myself punched into a locker. Who knows? I might have something interesting to say after all!
